The bagasse fired steam boiler is based on the typical application for biomass power generation, the utilization of the bagasse in sugar factory. The sugar cane is crushed first and squeezed in a mill to extract the sugar content. The remaining fibrous is called bagasse, and is used as fuel for power boilers. Steam is generated, which first produces electric power for in-house use, and exhaust steam is used as process heat for sugar processing. The bagasse fired steam boiler burn bagasse to produce heat to generate steam and hot water. They are very good at doing this, boasting efficiency levels of over 90% which is comparable with oil and gas fired boilers. Easy to operate and maintain, bagasse boilers are increasing in popularity in the world as they offer users currently on heating oil, singnficant saving on fuel cost and a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.
