Before understanding how to discharge pollutants, we must first understand the definition of boiler blowdown. The boiler blowdown is to control the water inside the boiler to meet the standard, and it is necessary to control the amount of impurities in the water. This requires removing excess salt, alkali, and more furnace water and sediment from the boiler. This process is boiler blowdown.     The purpose of sewage discharge is to enhance the quality of boiler steam, etc., and to discharge sediment and deposit salts. It is used to ensure that the water content of the boiler is within the proper range. The most common method of sewage disposal on the market today is continuous sewage, also known as surface drainage. This method of sewage discharge is to continuously discharge the large concentration of boiler water in the boiler from the surface layer of the boiler water to reduce the salt content and alkalinity in the water. This type of sewage discharge is representative of uninterrupted and continuous sewage discharge. Another type of sewage discharge is regular sewage discharge, also known as bottom sewage discharge or short sewage discharge. The purpose is also to allow the dross, sediment, etc. accumulated in the bottom of the boiler to be discharged from the boiler. Although the duration of regular sewage discharge is limited, the ability to discharge sediments is very strong, and the sewage in the boiler can be drained in a short time.

Boiler sewage disposal precautions

     1. Sewage should be carried out when the boiler water level is slightly higher, low load and high steam pressure.

     At low load, the boiler water slowly circulates, which tends to cause the dirt to collect at the bottom of the drum and the tank, while the high steam pressure has a high flow rate of sewage, which is convenient for discharging dirt. It can be seen that when the boiler discharges water, the water level should be kept at about 60% to carry out the sewage discharge operation. When discharging the sewage, special personnel must be set to operate, and the water level changes should be closely monitored to prevent water shortage.

     2. The drain valve should be opened briefly and intermittently.

    Each time the sewage is discharged at a speed, the slag is disturbed, so that the sediment can be quickly merged with the sewage outlet by suction, and then discharged. The control time should be appropriate, not too long, usually the time of one discharge must be within 30s. If the sewage discharge time is too long, the content of dirt in the furnace water will gradually decrease, so that not only the sewage discharge effect will be worse, but also the discharge amount will increase, which will waste heat energy, affect the boiler water circulation, and may even cause a pipe burst accident.

    3. Observe the outlet of the fixed discharge container

    After the discharge is completed, be sure to measure the temperature of the lower drain pipe and check the outlet of the fixed discharge vessel to determine whether the drain valve is completely closed. If the debris is stuck in the spool, it can be closed once and then quickly closed. If it is difficult to close due to the wear of the valve core, monitoring should be strengthened, repair or replacement should be arranged as soon as possible, and at the same time, it should be done on the shift record.
